This means a lot to so many people - both directly and indirectly impacted. I started my career in England on a local newspaper. I was 18 years old, it was the year 2000, the paper was at a peak. It, like so many others, closed down because of the fall in advertising revenue. The loss is still felt now. Thank you for covering this.
What a story. Lisa is amazing. I started reading this article with a hot cup of coffee, when I finished reading, the coffee was cold, the cup was still full. I was completely engrossed. Great article.
It still baffles me how low down the fold the reporting on all these Google cases is.
These profitable systemic issues - which I call harmenomics - still seem to take forever for governments, legal eagles and startup tech capitalists who believe in ‘growth mindsets’ to resolve. I am rooting for you, though!
It's not me, it's Lisa, and it's Justine, and the others willing to stand up to power and be counted. Media has done this since its inception, it just seems to have lost its way in recent years.
Trailblazers like these two are a timely reminder what journalism stands for. And we as a community, and as an industry, have a responsibility to stand tall with them.
Great story Ricky - Lisa Sygutek is a class act..
Oh yeah she is. She now needs to get some more headlines so her courage begins to create a groundswell.

Thanks for that. Local papers are the heartbeat of many communities as you would know.
With tough leaders like Lisa, there’s hope. I hope she’s a spark that can start a fire.

Thanks Jay. I know Lisa feels better for all the support she's getting from people like you all over the world.
It's a heavy mantle she's decided to carry. She's an inspiration.
Thanks Graham, means a lot. If you don't go, you won't know eh :)
Bravo Ricky, brilliant reporting.
Awesome story and tale ... worth a read (and the time to digest)
