What happens when two execs who cut their teeth at the very peak of the British tabloid era get together for a live chat? You’re about to find out.

This is my first go at using Substack live. Other than some squirrelly audio (which we resolve in the first two minutes) I think it works OK.

A few dozen people dropped in to the live stream (despite us not doing any pre-announcement) and all but one stayed for the whole chat.

It seems they found value in the conversation, and that’s no surprise, because Chris Duncan was the exec who launched and ran The Sun’s first foray into digital subscriptions.

That means he knows what worked, what didn’t, and has the lessons that can help others avoid the potholes. Here he spills the beans.
