A Google lab has released a 24,000-word patent revealing its plans to pivot from being a search engine into a publisher, and use AI to rewrite the world wide web.

It details a vision where all search results click through to snippets generated by Google’s AI within google.com and not link to source publishers or content creators.

Google is already rolling out its no-link model. It’s calling it Search Generative Experience, or SGE.

Publisher traffic will collapse, and ad revenue will crater, making it the greatest threat to the media industry since the dawn of the digital age.

I have the patent, and this is Google’s frightening vision of the future.
