It’s been 987 days since the US Department of Justice filed its landmark antitrust case to dismantle Google’s ad tech monopoly. Since then, Google has banked US$823 billion.
As it stands, Google is a three-times monopolist - in ad tech, search ads and apps - and Judge Leonie Brinkema is now deciding what to do to fix it.
She will deliver a ruling before Christmas that will determine the economics and direction of global digital advertising.
