One year ago today I published my first newsletter on Substack. AI was new, publishers were agog, and I’d just exited my AI video start-up Oovvuu.

I had something to say and stuck my chin out with a series of radical predictions for how the year ahead would play out. Now it’s time to see how I did.

A year on, 160,000 people read this newsletter from 70 countries. I’ve published 183 posts in 365 days, reporting on the collision of Big Tech, Big Media, and AI.

I’ve addressed the United Nations, landed a radio show, covered Google’s antitrust trials, keynoted global events, travelled all over the world, and had a ball.

Something friends know about me is that I’m passionate about transparency and accountability, so, I’m going to break a taboo and tell you what I have earned.

Then, I’m going to put my year-old predictions under the microscope to see whether I was worth it.

Why don’t you grab a coffee, and we’ll get to it…
